It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.
For example, students with dyslexia can reduce the contrast and complexity of the quiz pages, so that they are easier to read. We use a cookie to remember if a student has done this, so they don't have to do it each time they use Educake.
